Sunset Milk – Anti-Inflammatory & Gut Health Drink

A little #guthealth and #antiinflammatory boost to your evening routine: “SUNSET MILK”
This is one of my favs when I’ve either worked out hard OR noticed that I’ve been a little overstressed.
It’s very calming and soothing and loaded with the powerhouses: ginger, turmeric, and cinammon.
One of turmeric’s most well-known and studied properties is its effects on inflammation. It’s been shown to reduce inflammation in the body, which could help reduce the risk of many chronic diseases—and these properties also come from the curcumin compound. Turmeric has powerful benefits such as breathing problems, joint pain, fatigue, digestive issues, and more. It also has antimicrobial and anti-cancer effects.
Ginger is also a powerful anti-inflammatory, and also used to aid digestion, reduce nausea, and help fight the flu and common cold to name a few benefits.
► INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups milk (almond, coconut, hemp, etc)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup (add more as needed)
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of ground black pepper
► DIRECTIONS:
1. Pour all ingredients (except ground black pepper)
into a small saucepan.
2. Whisk occasionally while heating at medium- low
heat for 3-5 minutes, until hot but not boiling.
3. Remove from heat. Add black pepper and stir to combine.
Pour into a mug (through a sieve, optional) and sip away!
